Layering is important to maintain warmth on a dive. The base layer plays the most important role as it needs to wick away moisture from the body efficiently as well as storing and insulating heat generated by the body.
These base layers are made from 100% merino wool. Merino wool provides a high level of insulation. It is very absorbent, breathable as well as being naturally anti-bacterial. These are 200gm weight.
The base layers can be worn all year round - insulating the diver in cold conditions and managing moisture when the water is warmer. The soft material is extremely comfortable to wear next to the skin. These layers don't require any special treatment, they can be washed in the washing machine, are shrink resistant and are hard wearing.
The base layers consist of a long sleeved round neck top and leggings, in male and female versions. Separate top and bottoms tend to be better for divers as it accommodates variations in body shape as well as being easier for toilet breaks (especially for women). The top and bottoms are sold separately.
